About My Brand

If this pandemic has taught me anything, its that love, peace and happiness are at the root of every belief system. The charges given to try and obtain these are in Daoism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism. Love, peace and happiness are not simply emotions associated with pot-smokers who drive around in VW vans, to Grateful Dead concerts from city to city. Once I started to hear these ideas coming out of Proverbs, texts from the Dao, the Vedas, etc, and I could see the clear over-lap, I started to become hungry for these ideas to replace mindsets that were keeping me entitled, resentful, angry, and often victimized. Love forces one to be hella proactive. One has to explain more, clarify more, listen without ego with the sole effort of making the person you love more important in your mind, heart and soul than you. Love also requires you to apply compassion, reflection and forgiveness to yourself and others. I was like whoa… my thoughts are so jacked. No wonder I am filled with stress, unrest, a lack of discipline, etc. My thinking was toxic, and how can you move forward and achieve dreams if your thoughts are weighing you down.

Well you can’t. I wanted peace, gratitude, joy to lead me to love. And Happy? What does that really mean. I know its not smiling and bouncing around in pure bliss all the time. I’ve learned that happiness is a conscious choice to fix your mind on what there is to be grateful for and reflecting on those things no matter how hard; it is thinking on whatever is pure, true, fair, right, admirable (Philippians 4:8). It is a choice to think positive thoughts so that you feel a deep sense of appreciation for bubble baths, basil leaves on eggs, a long drive to a great song on repeat, as much as it is a choice to be thankful for the death of a loved one, a deal gone bad, a partnership or relationship ending… this requires a deep seated faith, that God knew the deal, saw an opportunity for growth, saw the why that you can’t see and embracing that instead of letting failures, disappointments ice your heart and soul. I want to be warm, flexible and easy to melt. I want to think thankfully about the small things to develop the habit of gratitude. This helps me want to manifest more to be thankful for.

Why do I call my music brand Holicious living… well, I want to put love, peace and happiness out to the world and help other artists to spread this platinum positive drip in their music too. We’ve all heard the relationship ending songs, the you’ve treated me badly songs, the I want you so bad but only for sex songs; why not hear more of the stories that give people the feeling of love, peace and happiness. I write the I could of had an affair but I didn’t because I’m a queen songs, the yeah life can be heavy but if you love yourself then its all good songs and the know your heart and let if be your guide songs. I want to sell those songs, license them in films, see these types of stories on netflix and in documentaries about those who have found the life well spring that is common among every major belief system. Love, peace and happiness have gotta be right, essential and obtainable. God must have planted that commonality in every culture so that he could fairly offer the keys to a best lived life to everyone. I think as a planet, we might embrace that more and see if it heals, imparts wisdon and wholeness deep within our beings. So, heres to holicious living. I wish you hear love, peace and happiness in everything I offer you.

Blessings!

I am so damn far from achieving love, peace and happiness 100% of the time, and I know it’s not possible as long as we are living in this flawed planet, but man, I’m seeking it, letting it change my thinking whenever I am woke enough to take my self out of those patterned, negative thoughts, I am drinking it to relieve thirst.
